Internet Slowdown in Pakistan

Islamabad, Pakistan – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that Internet Slowdown in Pakistan will be resolved by October 20.

Internet Slowdown in Pakistan, which has been causing disruptions and frustrations for netizens and remote workers, is mainly due to faults in two of Pakistan’s international submarine cables. However, the PTA has assured that the necessary repairs are underway.

According to PTA officials, the installation of a Web Management System (WMS) and up-gradation of the existing infrastructure will not only resolve the slowdown but also enhance the capacity by 8 to 9 terabytes. The WMS will also provide added protection against cyber-attacks.

The PTA initiated work on the WMS installation in 2019. Once completed, the system will significantly improve Pakistan’s internet infrastructure, making it more robust and secure.

The development comes as a relief to those affected by the slowdown, which had sparked speculations about government interference in digital media. The PTA has denied such claims.

With the expected resolution of the internet slowdown by October 20, Pakistanis can look forward to faster and more reliable internet services.
